Topic: Winamp Shuffle Feature

I have been using the Winamp shuffle feature but I have noticed that the forces of randomness aren't so random.  I have about 15 gig of music uploaded and still sometimes the music will pull the same artist out within a couple of hours.  To avoid running afoul of the rules, I have started creating specific playlists so that the rules can't be broken but still it seems odd that the shuffle feature keeps pulling up the same music closely together.

I turned off Shuffle and instead used MISC > SORT > RANDOMIZE LIST; it seemed to work better.

Eventually I purchased StationPlaylist Creator Lite - works great and has several nice additional features...

My personal recommendation, if your using vista or Win 7, you go with Oddsocks MJ playlist maker (free)

OR

If you are using windows XP, Tabascos Amazing Clockwheel (free).

Re: Winamp Shuffle Feature

I'm on Vista unless I am using the laptop as a remote which is XP.  I've built the library up to over 20 gig so it's not as much as a problem but I would still like to play around with other avenues.  I will try the oddsocks playlist maker first and see where that gets me.  I have been making some playlists to avoid the problem but just creating a playlist in Winamp gets very tedious very quickly.
